The Niesen is alive

The "Swiss pyramid" on Lake Thun is no stranger to the art world. Since the 16th century, the Niesen has repeatedly been the subject of internationally renowned artists such as Paul Klee, Ferdinand Hodler and Cuno Amiet.

The Niesen 3.0 exhibition features new contemporary digital artworks. Selected artists from all over the world were invited to create an animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) with the subject of Mount Niesen.

The GIF Gallery is proud to present a total of 27 works by internationally renowned artists.

The vernissage of the exhibition NIESEN 3.0 with the presentation of the digital animations on frame TVs took place on 31 March and 1 April 2023 at Kino Thun.

Der Niesen lebt

Die "Schweizer Pyramide" am Thunersee ist in der Kunstwelt kein Unbekannter. Seit dem 16. Jahrhundert ist der Niesen immer wieder Motiv von international bekannten Künstlern wie Paul Klee, Ferdinand Hodler oder Cuno Amiet.

Die Ausstellung Niesen 3.0 zeigt neue Positionen, neue zeitgenössische digitale Kunstwerke. Auserwählte Kunstschaffende aus aller Welt wurden eingeladen, ein animiertes GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) mit dem Sujet des Berges Niesen zu erstellen.

Die GIF Gallery ist stolz, insgesamt 27 Werke von international bekannten Künstlerinnen und Künstler zu präsentieren.

Die animierten GIFs wurden Ende März 2023 auf Bildschirmen in einer Pop-Up-Ausstellung im Kino Rex in Thun gezeigt.
